Q: What PLANMECA product can be converted to Digital?
A: All PLANMECA x-ray's may be converted to digital, depending on the model the conversion process may vary.
Q: How long does it take to convert a Film based x-ray to Digital?
A: In most cases less than a day. This will vary depending on the infrastructure and equipment involved.
Q: Are there any special installation requirements for Digital x-ray products?
A: Generally additional cabling will be required. The physical installation requirements for a digital x-ray product is almost identical to the film version of the product. Space requirements may vary depending on the type of product installed.
Q: Are there any special power requirements for Digital x-ray products?
A: Yes. All PLANMECA products must be on a dedicated circuit. It is also recommended to have a battery backup system (uninterruptable power supplies - UPSs) for each unit. For specifications please check our ProMax, Proline or Intra FAQs.
Q: Are there any special tools needed to install a Digital x-ray?
A: No, for the installation of the x-ray only the standard tools are required.
Q: Do you need a computer to service a digital x-ray product?
A: Yes, you do need a computer to service the digital x-ray. Most likely you will need an access to the computer connected to the unit. For some tasks you will need administrative rights.
Q: Can you still take Film x-ray's with a Digital x-ray machine?
A: Only the PLANMECA Intra is configured to do both by switching the modes on the control panel.
Q: What Computer Operating system is supported by PLANMECA?
A: Windows2000 and WindowsXP.
Q: Does PLANMECA support Dual processors?
A: Yes. The latest version of Dimaxis software or DIDAPI kit is required.
