While intelligent scanning algorithms and an intuitive user interface make capturing digital impressions simple and efficient, Romexis goes far beyond scanning: you can seamlessly combine your intraoral scans with other patient data for any dental treatment, including orthodontic analyses, restoration design, and implant planning. Plus, with the AI-powered tools of Romexis, generating an implant plan proposal takes only a few seconds.

Intraoral scans captured with Planmeca Onyx are instantly available on all Romexis workstations, enabling efficient patient communication, treatment planning, restoration design, and clear aligner consultations. As part of the Planmeca PULSE ecosystem, the scanner is fully integrated with our milling units and 3D printer, allowing you to use intraoral scans to design and manufacture dental crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays right at the clinic. Wireless when you want, corded when you need
Planmeca Onyx offers true flexibility by operating both wirelessly and with a cord – so you can freely choose the mode that best fits your workflow. While wireless operation provides unmatched freedom of movement and impeccable ergonomics, the corded option ensures uninterrupted performance for complex cases or busy clinics where the scanner is in use all day. The scanner comes with a charging station and three batteries, each delivering up to 45 minutes of scanning time, ensuring a fully charged battery is always ready when you need it.
Reusable, autoclavable scanning tips
Designed with sustainability and safety in mind, the autoclavable scanning tips of Planmeca Onyx can be reused hundreds of times, reducing waste and helping your clinic operate more environmentally responsibly. Autoclavability and seamless tip design ensures impeccable hygiene and reliable infection control in every situation. Each tip is equipped with a memory chip that tracks usage for added safety and compliance.

Easy imports and exports
Built on an open platform, Planmeca Onyx allows you to swiftly share the intraoral scans with others – entirely without click fees. The scanner supports imports and exports in open STL and PLY file formats, facilitating easy collaboration with dental laboratories and other partners. With Romexis® Cloud, you can securely send your intraoral scans or other types of image data to dental laboratories, which they can receive and view through our secure Romexis® LabApp application.
